Partnerships and Friends
Happy Summer to everyone here at THE A LIST!
Our focus of unifying the grid has been a very difficult process. A process that sometimes caused us to almost give up on the hope of making peace within the business and creative communities. We worked hard for you and the majority of our group appreciated the small ways we tried to help.
We created internet properties to bring our photographs, words and promotions for the varying interests here on the Second Life grid. Sometimes, we could not do everything due to a lack of resources and manpower. The successes have been remarkable, though. We see many of you networking together, creating new groups, new offerings and working together in a cohesive way. That is our main success.
We also saw a few that did not support us no matter what we did. And, that was disheartening. Networking is complicated and sometimes people did not see the positive unless their name was up front. That can not happen as there are many in our group and each of you have an important interest here in Second Life.
Our focus now is to move forward, continue to network our group and to provide a vehicle for your interests. Here's to prosperity at the end of this year, 2011! Economy in the US is showing an uptick and that is a very good sign for the entire world. Cheers!
For any questions or concerns, please contact Raftwet or Xavier for further information.

cherry manga at tournicoton art gallery
cherry manga at tournicoton art gallery, originally uploaded by rafeejewell.
My avatar was bitten by the cyber bug after watching Tron, the big Disney release in mid-December. I had to burn that feeling so I walked about in a cyber outfit for a few days.
On Dec 19th, I went over to Tournicoton Art Gallery to see Cherry Manga's installation. The ghostly white installation was stark against the black night and the artwork floated in the sky near the long walkway.
Other artists were at the show, but I was there to see Cherry's work as she has been a favorite artist of mine for a very long time.
JayJay Zinfanwe just sent out the UWA (University Western Australia) announcements for December's round of their art challenge and low and behold! Cherry Manga's work was the winner for last months competition.
His comments, "...Cherry Manga's IL PLEUT SUR MON COEUR COMME IL PLEUT SUR LA VILLE (It's raining in my heart, as it's raining in the town) took out the top prize (L$10,000) for the December round of the UWA 3D Open Art Challenge. "
Go and check out her work at the UWA show! You will also be mesmerized by her work. She deserves the recognition and the win. Her work has always captivated me in more ways than I can explain.
For more info, please visit UWA's website.
January kiosk for receiving artwork is located here: slurl.com/secondlife/UWA/63/128/249

jake and baz at jakes club resort
jake and baz at jakes club resort, originally uploaded by rafeejewell.
A gorgeous Japanese-themed setting was built over at Jakes Club Resort. Climbing the wooden stairs through the door and suddenly the world changes to Japan.
A beautiful stream with Koi fish and a temple graced the background. We walked over the bridge into a Japanese wonder.
Godzilla made an appearance without Mothra, but that overgrown lizard sure could dance! LOL!
Everyone was in kimonos! What a great party! A beautiful Saturday night in Second LIfe with good music and fun spirits! Woot! Thank you Jake and Baz!

dj dennis reanimator party
We have had a long week and it was wearing us both down. Music always soothes and always makes us happy. Last night with Mr Widget and today with hardstyle.

We have a couple of new members who have opened up a hardstyle place called The Club. Now that's an easy name to remember!

Kudos to Clint and Miki for a place to enjoy the hardstyle tunes. Like the King of Hardstyle, IsitheDreamaker Teskat and his club Domina, The Club is a great addition to this musical genre.

Woot! people go check out the tunes.

pug city virtual world second life
pug city virtual world second life, originally uploaded by rafeejewell.
Urban Pug City is a total concept sim. Go check out ElectroLight Lounge while you're at it.
The A List! cool hunters were out last night combing the grid for that element of underground that is always elusive. Looking for cool ain't cool, but tripping over it is always nice.
DaSaved Eros from the Underground Artists of Second Life group is an interesting blend of businessman, dj, artist and tech-head. Ahhh, this one works with both sides of his brain.
DaSaved has been involved for a long time supporting the arts and artists with locations and events to help have a place for these artists to create and network together.
He is our kind of artist and friend to the virtual world community of Second Life. He is definitely top notch and we are proud to have him and Pug City with The A List!
And, oh by the way, he created this beautiful particle storm. So nice!
