Water and art is a theme in every aspect of my real life and virtual life. I build water related elements. Rivers, streams, waterfalls... when I spoke with Kelly about her latest concepts at her gallery, I knew I had to go see it.
Kelly Yap Artist Gallery has a total concept theme about water. Every artist there has an offering that shows a reverence towards water... the most necessary element of our human existance. Every creature, every plant has to have water in order to survive. I revere it in every possible way. And I think this gallery's theme shows it.
The building is a watery delight. Water textures for the walls and waterfalls cascading everywhere. It is a glorious, divine build to the gods of water, rivers and streams. I loved it!
One of the sculptures is a cascading series of waterfalls in an almost kaleidescope presentation. You look deep into the heart of the sculpture to be rewarded with small waterfalls falling on top of the other while you peer intently inside. I have seen this one before at another gallery a whlle back and I was impressed then.
Please take the time to go experience this show. Go for a visit and see what these builders created. If you love the water, you will so appreciate this gallery.
